The Iraqi government has entered into a partnership with Ernst & Young, a global leader in professional and financial services, to assess and enhance the operations of state-owned insurance companies affiliated with the Ministry of Finance.
Finance Minister Taif Sami stated that Ernst & Young will provide expert guidance on potential strategies such as restructuring, merging, or upgrading the performance of these institutions to align with international standards and best practices.
This initiative is part of a broader economic reform plan aimed at improving Iraq’s financial infrastructure. As a further step in that direction, the government also plans to collaborate with international firms specializing in legal, economic, and public relations consulting to support the Trade Bank of Iraq and strengthen the country’s credit rating.
